Christina Kuo, LPC

Christina Kuo is passionate about supporting her clients using an integrative, creative, and holistic approach by providing a safe and non-judgmental environment for them, taking into consideration the connection between the mind and body, as well as the environment to create a collaborative, person-centered intervention to build resilience and empower her clients.

Christina is a Licensed Professional Counselor. She completed her Mental Health Counseling graduate studies at University of Pennsylvania and has a master’s in Fashion Design from Drexel University and an undergraduate degree in Economics from Boston University.


Christina has created and conducted numerous workshops and outreach programs while at the University of Pennsylvania and at The University of the Sciences in Philadelphia. As an immigrant, a first-generation college student, and a former international student, she specializes in supporting and counseling the immigrant population, the young adult population, and international student population addressing the different challenges in their lives at various stages. She is heavily influenced by cross-cultural and multicultural philosophy in her counseling approach.

Christina is a Nationally Certified Counselor and is certified in Dialectic Behavioral Therapy. She is also a member of the following groups:

  • American Psychological Association
  • American Counseling Association
  • CT Society for Psychoanalytic Psychology – Board member of Early Career Professionals, and Winner of the Early Career Scholarship Program, 2021-2022
  • UPENN Alumni Research Group

Christina was born in Jakarta, Indonesia and educated in Singapore. She came to the United States for college as an international student at the age of 16 after finishing her ‘O’ Levels. She completed her OPT as an underwriter at Blue Cross and Blue Shields of New Jersey and was hired as a permanent staff member and immigrated to the US. She is fluent in English and Mandarin Chinese and understands conversational Bahasa Indonesia and Malay.

In her spare time, Christina loves watching Chinese martial arts shows and movies, anything on Disney Plus, and YouTube cooking shows with her children. She enjoys listening to podcasts and audio books too. Christina is a fiber artist and creates knitting patterns and samples for yarn lines and companies. She has done various commissioned and custom pieces, organized a yarn bomb and various exhibits at the Strafford, Pennsylvania library, and is looking forward to going back as a volunteer again for future events!
