Chrystal Charles, Intern

Chrystal‘s goal is to provide a judgment-free space to assist others in their journey of self-actualization with an emphasis on empathy and collaboration. She utilizes a person-centered approach to foster a mindful and judgmental-free environment; unique to each client.

Chrystal is a master’s level student at Northwestern University and is currently an intern striving towards her master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling under the supervision of Lapde So, LPC. Chrystal previously studied at the University of Connecticut and has a Bachelor of Arts in Psychological Sciences, a minor in Sociology, and a minor in Women Gender and Sexuality Studies.

Prior to pursuing counseling, Chrystal worked as a research assistant in the Psychology Department of UCONN. As a means of de-stigmatizing mental health, while wanting to help others, Chrystal was inspired to change career paths after graduating to become a counselor.

Her interests include anxiety, life transitions, coping skills, and accessibility. Chrystal works at a discounted rate due to being an intern but is closely supervised by her supervisor.
