Do you take care of others and put everyone else first? Do you feel stuck or unsatisfied? Do you have trouble saying no? For good health and well being, everyone needs to take a little time for themselves. Lapde believes that creating some space in your life, even just one hour a week, can be very beneficial to your health and well being.

Oxygen MaskAs the saying goes when flying on an airplane, “…make sure to put the oxygen mask on yourself first before attempting to help others around you.”

How can you help others when you are suffering yourself? You need to be the best that you can be before others can depend on you.

Therapy is a very personal and private endeavor. Some people may need a quiet, safe place to call their own. Some people want an unbiased, listening ear to vent to when times are tough. Some people want advice in making big decisions. Some people want to learn healthier coping skills. And others just want to be happy. Whatever the reason may be, therapy can help.

Lapde provides individual counseling, couples counseling, and family counseling. In addition, she does drug and alcohol assessments, addictions counseling, and family education on chemical dependency. She also does group therapy and workshops/presentations. Skype sessions can be arranged for those who prefer to receive therapy services through phone or videoconferencing.

She uses a variety of approaches in the work that she does and believes therapy should be collaborative. Therefore, she caters her approach to the needs of the client. She looks for negative patterns in behaviors and helps you make sense of them in order to understand and learn to change them. One of the best things you can do for yourself is learn from your mistakes to prevent them from happening again.

Therapy can help with an array of issues including:
